British Labor Party Suspended The Membership Of Lord Nazir

The British Labor Party has suspended the membership of its party member and a British parliamentarian of Kashmiri origin, Lord Nazir Ahmed, media reported Monday.
In a statement issued, the spokesman of the party said that if these comments were accurate the party utterly condemns these remarks which are totally unacceptable.
“The international community is rightly doing all in its power to seek justice for the victims of the Mumbai bombings and halt terrorism.”
“His membership was suspended due to the statement regarding US Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush,” the statement added.
The spokesman further said that a probe regarding the statement would be carried out by the party.
On the other hand Nazir disowned the allegations against him and said that he never announced a bounty on Barack Obama and George Bush.
Addressing media, Lord Nazir clarified his position and maintained that he did not use the word ‘bounty’. He said he will stand by his stance that Tony Blair and Bush should face international criminal court over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Lord Nazir said he will continue to fight for the rights of Muslims. He condemned all the allegations against him and denied media reports of him offering bounty on Tony Blair and Bush. He said he will represent Muslims on every forum.
He said he will shortly go to London and will study the party's allegations leveled against him.
Nazir Ahmed is a member of the House of Lords, having become the United Kingdom’s first Muslim life peer in 1998. Many of his political activities relate to the Islamic community both in the UK and abroad, and he has often attracted controversy.
