Six Officers Of TeleCom Foundation Including GM Finance Have Fake Degrees

A letter No. 379/21-V/ccc/DD issued by the Federal Investigation Agency(FIA)revealed that Amjad Hussain Qureshi secretary Telecom Foundation and General Manager Finance and Accounts, Rasheed Anwar Shami Deputy General Manager, Khalid Ismail Assistant Manager, Riaz Ahmadd Khan Manager,Miss Naseem Akhtar Commercial Officer and Mehdi Hassan Supervisor had fake degrees as was declared by FIA and their original degrees were sought by the agency from Managing Director TF. But, institution did not send any original degree to the FIA. Amjad Hussain Qureshi had claimed in his professional qualifications as Chartered Accountant that he had advanced accounting, cast accounting, taxation, company law and and auditing as major subjects. However, Result Card No. 44-CA/11/5 issued by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan for Roll No.268 shows that Amjad Hussain Qureshi did not appear in these subject in CA final exam and was declared failed in all the 5 subjects. But he is getting advanced academic qualification allowance. The other officer in the Telecom Foundation Riaz Ahmad Khan Manager Administration was suspended on August 04, 2011 due to non-submission of original degree of BBA. An officer of TF Rasheed Anwar was appointed as deputy general manager in BPS -19 for which educational qualification was CA, MBA or M Com, but Rasheed Anwar was simply a graduate. The MBA degree he submitted in 1998 issued by the Princeton University was fake. Higher Education Commission does not recognize any degree of the Princeton University prior to 2001. The Degree holds neither date nor stamp of the University. He also received Rs 0.1 million out of Telecom Welfare Fund for paying the tuition fee for the same degree. His department has also given him laptop and costly mobile phone set.
Khalid Ismail was appointed as Manager finance and accounts for which eligibility criterion was MBA degree, but he has inter certificate only. He neither obtained any special diploma or certificate. A training course after matriculation was considered at par with degree that has not been accepted by HEC. Moreover, ministry of information technology has also taken notice of his promotion to the rank of general manager finance.
According to Md of the TF the degrees have been submitted to the concerned authorities but reply is still awaited.
