**-- Boxer Muhammad Waseem:- Pakistani boxer Muhammad Waseem successfully defended his WBC Silver Flyweight championship title in November by defeating Philippine's Magramo at Millennium Hilton in South Korean city, Seoul. Waseem, who is also known as Falcon Khan, turnedd pro in October last year since then he is undefeated in all five professional bouts and three of them were knocked-out victories. **--Pakistan Took Top Spot in ICC ranking:- Pakistan snatched first position from India for the first time in 13-year history of Test Rankings. Pakistan is the only fifth team after Australia, England, South Africa and India to top the ICC Test Rankings since they were introduced in 2003. Pakistan has not been able to play any cricket at home for more than six years. **--Astrophysicist Nergis Mavalvala:- Pakistani-American Astrophysicist Dr Nergis Mavalwala played her role in the first observation of gravitational waves earlier this year. Nergis was born in Lahore but primarily raised in Karachi. She attended Convent of Jesus and Mary, Karachi, where she obtainned her O-Level and A-Level qualifications. She later moved to USA in 1986 and enrolled herself in Wellesley College, where she received bachelor's degree in physics and astronomy in 1990. She then then worked on her PhD degree in physics and earned it in 1997. Pakistan's ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani later invited her to visit Pakistan.
