Mashal,a 17- year-old Hindu girl of Pakistani origin, has been precluded from taking All-India pre-medical test because of her status as a foreigner. Mashal's parents moved to Jaipur from Pakistan almost two years ago, to avoid alleged religious prosecution, as well as see their daughter become doctor. Though she scored 91 percent marks in her pre-medical exam but still she was denied to sit in entry test being foreigner. There are only two nationality options in the application form, one is Indian, and other Overseas Citizen of India/ Non-Resident Indian and Mashal is not in either category.
