President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain has approved the appointment of Justice Jawad S Khawaja as the Chief Justice of Pakistan, on the recommendation of prime minister. The new C S will assume his charge of the new assignment from August 17. Probably the same same day will be the oath taking ceremony to be held. The incumbant C S Justice Nasir ul Mulk will retire from August 16 at the age of 65 years.
