Bagladeshi Cricketer Is Behind The Bars In Rape Case
Bangladeshi cricketer Robel Hussain, who is also in the National Squad World Cup 2015, was sent behind the bars on charges of raping an actress. It is reported that a magistrate in Dhaka remanded the cricketer in police custody after 19-year-old Naznin Akter Happy lodged a complaint of rape and false promise of marriage against the cricketer last month. The court order served a blow to the cricketer's chance to appear in the mega event of ICC World Cup next month. The metropolitan magistrate court rejected the bail plea and he was sent to the prison pending the next hearing of the case, Commissioner Dhaka police Anis ur Rahman said. The police last month launched a probe after Happy lodged a complaint that the fast bowler backed away from the earlier pledge to marry her after having months-long intimate affair. After hearing the complaint court ordered medical tests on Happy and the accused Robel to undergo DNA tests. The scandal has gripped the Muslim country for weeks, with Happy telling reporters she is prepared to withdraw the case if Robel agrees to marry her. The fast bowler has rejected the accusations of rape or making of proposal of marrying her, saying Happy was trying to 'blackmail' him. He also ruled out marrying the actress. Happy became a household name for her debut movie "Kichu Asha bholobasa" ( Some hopes, some Love) which hit the cinemas in September 2013.
