Life Is Useless Without Charity And Humanitarian Work--Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie has credited her dedication to charity and humanitarian work with helping to keep her life on the right track.
The In the Land of Blood and Honey writer and director admitted that while it can be easy to fall into a “shallow” Hollywood lifestyle, she has kept her sights on the real world in order to remain grounded.
Jolie told a Weekly: “Without the balance of doing things that actually matter in the world and being part of the real world then I would have been left in a bubble. That would have felt very empty and I probably would have just had a very shallow, horrible life. “I have a real view of the real world. I’m very touched and very moved by people and what they overcome. They have always reminded me to just wake up in the morning and be grateful that your children are healthy. Nothing else matters.”
In October 2011, Jolie was honoured by the United Nations for her humanitarian work during her ten years of service as a Goodwill Ambassador.
Jolie recently announced that she would donate the proceeds made from the soundtrack to In the Land of Blood and Honey to Bosnian organisation SOS Children’s Villages.
