Oscar Winner A R Rahman Responded To The Objection For His Daughter's Veil
Oscar winner A R Rahman has responded to the criticism he received for ‘his daughter’s face covered with a veil’, reported Times Now.
His daughter Khatija recently shared the stage with her father during an event to celebrate 10 years of Slumdog Millionaire. The music of the film gained Rahman two Academy accolades.
Several users commented that they had not expected his daughter to be dressed so conservatively, assuming that he had forced her to follow such a dressing style.
Addressing the controversy, the Dil Se composer on Thursday tweeted a photograph from his handle of his two daughters and wife, posing along with Nita Ambani. The hashtag accompanying the picture says #freedomtochoose.
While Khatija is donning a veil in the said picture, her sister Raheema and mother Sairaa are not.

Khatija has also reportedly clarified that she was not forced by anyone to cover her face. She took to Facebook to share her thoughts on the matter. Khatija clarified that the veil has nothing to do with her parents.
“The veil has been my choice with complete acceptance and honour. I’m a sane mature adult who knows to make my choices in life,” she said.
She added that everybody has the right to dress according to their choice and that she has been doing the same. Khatija also urged people to not jump to conclusions or judge others without understanding the situation.
Rahman has three children – Khatija, Raheema, and Ameen. Khatija has also sung for her father in Enthiran.

Bollywood Starlet Anushka Sharma Seems To Have Found Her Doppleganger
Bollywood starlet Anushka Sharma seems to have found her doppelganger. Well, her fans did. Over the weekend, Instagram users flooded American singer Julia Michaels’ profile with comments and tags. Everyone had one question: Do you know how much you resemble Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma?
“You look almost like Anushka Sharma, a Bollywood actress,” a fan commented on her post. “I thought Anuskha changed her hair colour,” stated another. “Omg, seriously, she looks alike Anushka Sharma. I’ve listened her song Anxiety like five days ago, I never noticed,” said a fan.
Following all these comments, Julia took it upon herself to get in touch with Anushka. “Hi, Anushka Sharma apparently we’re twins lol,” she tweeted. The Sui Dhaga star responded with, “OMG YES!! I’ve been looking for you and the remaining five of our doppelgangers all my life.”

Gaert Wilders, Right Hand of Anti-islam dutch MP Has Embraced Islam
A Dutch former far-right MP and right-hand man of anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders has set tongues wagging in the Netherlands after revealing he has converted to Islam, news reports said Tuesday.
For years Joram van Klaveren fought a relentless campaign in the Lower House against Islam in the Netherlands as a lawmaker for Wilders’ Freedom Party (PVV).
At the time, the “hardliner pleaded for banning the burqa and minarets, saying ‘we don’t want any Islam, or at least as little as possible in the Netherlands’,” the daily tabloid Algemeen Dagblad (AD) said.
But the 40-year-old Van Klaveren said he had changed his mind halfway through writing an anti-Islam book.
“If everything I wrote up to that point is true, and I believe that, then I am a de facto Muslim,” he said.
Van Klaveren converted to Islam on October 26 last year, the NRC said in an interview piece ahead of the release of Van Klaveren’s book titled an ‘Apostate: From Christianity to Islam in the Time of Secular Terror.’
The former politician who grew up in an orthodox Protestant Christian environment said of his conversion that he “has been searching for a long time.”
“It feels a bit like a religious homecoming for me,” he told Dutch newspapers.
“His conversion has surprised both friend and enemy,” the AD newspaper said.
Van Klaveren split with Wilders in 2014 after the PVV leader’s controversial comments that year when asking supporters whether they wanted “fewer or more Moroccans in your city and the Netherlands”.
