modi was slammed by Opposition parties to use armed forces for political benefits
A large number of opposition parties in India on Wednesday slammed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for using the country’s armed forces for ‘political benefits’.
At least 21 senior leaders of rival parties blasted Prime Minister Narendar Modi for blatant policisation of the forces and expressed concerns over the air force pilot who was captured by Pakistan Army during an ‘aerial engagement’ earlier today.
Two Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft were shot down by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Indian targets across the Line of Control (LoC) were struck by Pakistani jets from within friendly airspace as the country’s armed forces struck back after unprovoked Indian aggression a day earlier.
The opposition parties during a meeting also pointed out that the Modi-led BJP government has failed to take them into confidence, reported NDTV.
Shiv Sena warns BJP against using Pulwama attack for political gains
In a statement issued at the end of the huddle, the opposition said, “The prime minister has, regrettably, not convened an all-party meeting as per the established practice in our democracy.”
The leaders, according to the statement, urged the government to “take the nation into confidence on all measures to protect India’s sovereignty, unity and integrity”.
Days earlier, Hindu extremist party Shiv Sena had also warned right-wing BJP against using the February 14 Pulwama attack to influence the upcoming p

eating three dates daily will save you from colon cancer and other disease
f you like sweetness on a Friday night, something new and exciting, or something that will give you energy and perhaps a little skip in your step, then you are likely someone who likes a good date or even several. And whether we’re talking about a romantic outing with another person or an edible sweet fruit, it mattereth not. Dates out to dessert, or dates for dessert are both as awesome as they are healthy for the body and mind. Yet, for this article, we are talking about the the fruit of the date palm grown in many tropical regions of the world.
Moreover, if you eat three of these soft, squishy fruit everyday for one week, you may consider makin dates a more regular occurrence because the following things will likely happen to your body:
Reduced risk of colon cancer
Along with insuring that food moves through the digestive system at a healthy rate, dates also make sure that the gut itself is healthy and free from harmful bacteria. And when the digestive system and gut are working well, then so is the colon, resulting in a reduced risk of colon cancer.
A study conducted by the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences found that those who consumed dates had enhanced colon health because dates increased the growth of good bacteria, inhibiting the growth of colon cancer cells.
You’ll have quick, long lasting energy
Dates contain the natural sugars, glucose, fructose and sucrose that will give you a quick burst of energy when you need it. And unlike energy bars or drinks, dates contain other healthy components like fiber, potassium, magnesium, vitamins and antioxidants that will keep those levels up, and not send you quickly crashing down.
Your digestive health will improve
If you want to keep things in your digestive system moving along nice and regularly, dates are just the thing to do that. In just a one cup serving or dates, you will get 12 grams of fiber. That’s 48 percent of your recommended daily intake!
The right amounts and right kinds of fiber can benefit your digestive health by preventing constipation and promoting regular bowel movements. And dates are most definitely the right kind of fiber to do the job. In fact, a study published in the British Journal of Nutrition found that people who consumed 7 dates per day for 21 days showed improvements in stool frequency and increase in bowel movements compared to when they did not eat dates.
You could be smarter
Dates contain Vitamin B6 that has been shown to improve performance of brain by helping the body make serotonin and norepinephrine. Serotonin in turn regulates mood and norepinephrine helps your body cope with stress. Conversely, research has shown that low levels of Vitamin B6 is linked to depression.
So, when your brain is clear from stress, and in a good mood, then it is sharp and ready to learn and retain information.
Treatment for hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are veins in your anus and rectumthat have become inflamed and swollen. This is often caused by constipation that leads to strain in that area at the far end of the digestive tract. This is a terrible and often very painful condition that fortunately can be treated and even reversed through a change in diet to reduce constipation.
Many doctors recommend a diet high in fiber, and that includes dates to help things move along so that your hemorrhoids can heal.
Cure a broken heart, aka, improve your cardiovascular system
Sometimes all it takes is several dates in a row over a long period of time to cure a broken heart.
It’s true. The potassium contained in this seemingly magical little fruit has been found lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) that causes blockages in the arteries that lead to stroke and even heart attack. A study of older women found that high potassium intake is associated with a lower risk of stroke and ischemic stroke and mortality.
So, invest in a date — even several over a long period of time — and you will find long lasting health that could very well lead to your happily ever after.

Jonas Family Does Not Like Priyanka Chopra Much
The world of showbiz is such that no matter how hard one tries, some people will just never believe them. True to the adage that ‘haters are gonna hate,’ celebrities are always being targeted with criticism of one kind or another.
Sometimes, the fashion police is questioning their outfit choices, other times fans are ridiculing them for some project they had taken up against their better judgement. And a lot of times, the negativity attacks their personal relationships.
And by that, we don’t mean romantic liaisons but family ties as well. Talk about unnecessary interference! Such was the case with the recent episode between Danielle Jonas and Priyanka Chopra which, small as it may have been, was enough to convince everyone of infighting between the sisters-in-law.
What happened was that the 32-year-old starlet, who is married to Kevin Jonas, took to Instagram to wish Joe Jonas’s fiancée Sophie Turner – her other sister-in-law – a happy birthday. Danielle shared a sweet picture with her 1.3 million followers saying, “Happy birthday! My girls and I are so blessed to have you in our lives. They can’t get enough of their aunt Sophie. You deserve the world and I hope you’re having an amazing birthday! Love you.”
Now that seems pretty harmless, right? That’s probably what the mom-of-two thought too. But soon enough, fans began speculating about how Danielle’s post was “low-key shade” against Priyanka.
Fortunately, the reality TV personality shut down the accusations before things got too out of hand. “Nope,” E! News quoted Danielle as saying. “No shade about Priyanka. It’s just Sophie’s birthday so I wanted to say happy birthday. I think everyone should stop with thinking that we don’t like Priyanka as she is lovely. I am so over people trying to make a problem.” We hear you, girl!
According to rumours, Danielle didn’t get along with Priyanka when she didn’t attend the latter’s bachelorette party last November. But has clarified she was in the process of “moving to another house” and couldn’t make it.
Priyanka married Nick Jonas on December 1, 2018. Danielle has been married to Nick’s eldest brother Kevin, for almost 10 years now — they tied-the-knot back in 2009. More recently, Game of Thrones’ Sophie became engaged to Nick’s other older brother, Joe, last October.
All the family members flew to Indian back in December to attend Nick and Priyanka’s wedding at the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. It’s safe to say there’s no bad blood between the two sister-in-laws.

India Has Threatened To block water supply to pakistan
In a pursuance of belligerence, India has threatened to block the water supply to Pakistan in light of the Pulwama attack, Times Now News, reported.
The warning comes on the backdrop of the February 14 suicide attack in occupied Kashmir’s Pulwama district in which 44 Indian paramilitary forces were killed.
Addressing a gathering in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the water from three rivers entering Pakistan would be directed towards river Yamuna.
He also wrote on Twitter, saying: “Our government has decided to stop our share of water which used to flow to Pakistan.”
Under the leadership of Hon'ble PM Sri @narendramodi ji, Our Govt. has decided to stop our share of water which used to flow to Pakistan. We will divert water from Eastern rivers and supply it to our people in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
— Nitin Gadkari (@nitin_gadkari) February 21, 2019
A day earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally revoked the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status granted to Pakistan.
The union minister also said that a project is being worked upon to connect the three rivers to further explore the possibilities of transportation in these water channels.
“Three of our rivers have been flowing into Pakistan. So water which we rightfully owned was going into Pakistan. Now we are planning to create a project and divert the waters of these three rivers to the Yamuna. So you can understand that there will be enough water in the Yamuna,” he said while inaugurating several water projects in Uttar Pradesh.
Amid relentless sabre-rattling from New Delhi Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday authorised the armed forces of Pakistan to respond “decisively and comprehensively” to any aggression or misadventure by India.

After Statement On Pulwama Attack Sidhu Has Been Fired From Hosting TV Show (Video)
After receiving backlash from opponents and social media for his statement on Pulwama attack, now Navjot Singh Sidhu has to step down from The Kapil Sharma Show. The channel has asked him to leave the show and he will be replaced by Archana Puran Singh.
A source close to the channel told Indian Express that, "His remarks have not been taken kindly by most. Also, the channel and the show was getting dragged into the unwanted controversy. This is when the team amicably decided that Navjot make a distance from the show. The team has already shot a couple of episodes with Archana."
Post the Pulwama attack, Sidhu had said, "For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished". His comment did not go down well with the netizens and also made #BoycottKapilSharmaShow trend on Twitter yesterday.

Mawra Hocane's Nice Response To Pulwama Attack
Since Mawra Hocane made her Bollywood debut with 2016 romantic drama, Sanam Teri Kasam, she has openly spoken about her fondness for working across the border.
However, after the ban on Pakistani artists post Uri attack, the Aangan starlet refrained from commenting on the matter. Few days ago, when India banned Pakistani artists once again, this time in the wake of Pulwama attacks, Mawra was once again asked the same question.
Her thoughts on the matter.
A user posted, “Your views on the Pulwama attack. I know you are not going to answer this. But still.”

To this, the actor pointed out three arguments:
1. You assumed what I would do before I did it, so first things first stop judging.
2. Humanity first. Every life lost is a human life lost. It’s heartbreaking! Praying for sabar and more love on this side of the world.
3. Stop the hate just in case someone isn’t expressive

India's First Semi-High-Speed Train Brokedown After Colliding With A Cow On The Tracks
India’s first semi-high speed train broke down Saturday after colliding with a cow on the tracks, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new passenger service.
The Vande Bharat Express, touted as India’s fastest train and built under the Modi government’s flagship “Make in India” programme, made its first journey Friday from New Delhi to the Hindu holy city of Varanasi.
But on its return to the capital the next day a collision with a cow disrupted electricity supply to four carriages and damaged the brake system, according to Indian Railways.
“The train later experienced technical issues and was stranded on the way to Delhi,” Indian Railways spokesperson Smita Vats Sharma told AFP.
The train reached the capital “safely” ahead of its first commercial journey on Sunday, she added.
Cattle obstructions on roads and rail tracks are common in India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh state where Saturday’s collision happened.
Since coming to office, Modi’s nationalist party launched a crackdown on the slaughter of cows — considered sacred by many Hindus — which has led to crisis numbers of stray and unwanted cattle in the state.
India is struggling to upgrade its colonial-era railway system, which relies on creaking and outdated infrastructure to transport 23 million travellers each day.
The locally-made express train has a rated top speed of 180 kilometres (111 miles) an hour, 20 per cent quicker than the next fastest train in service.
Railway authorities say the train is expected to reduce the 850-kilometre journey between the two cities from 14 to eight hours.
Saturday’s accident is the latest controversy for the express train — a pet project of Modi’s government, which has vowed to debut India’s first bullet train in 2022.
Last week India’s rail minister Piyush Goyal was left red-faced after he tweeted a digitally altered video of the train zipping by a station at lightning speed.
He was later accused of altering the video to make the train appear faster, triggering widespread social media ridicule.

Pulwama Attack In Occupied Kashmir Grabbed Headlines Across Various Foreign Media Outlets (Video)
A deadly suicide attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir’s (IoK) Pulwama district, killing at least 44 Indian paramilitary soldiers, grabbed headlines across various Indian and foreign media outlets on Thursday.
The suicide bombing took place when a car rammed a bus carrying troops belonging to India’s Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Hours after the attack, sections of the Indian government and media pinned the attack on Islamabad. The Foreign Office (FO) rejected allegations seeking to link the attack to Pakistan without investigations.
How Indian media reported the incident
The Indian Express quoted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hinting towards Pakistan in a headline that read: “If our neighbour thinks it can destabilise India, it’s making a big mistake”. The article emphasised on India’s resolve to “initiate diplomatic steps to ensure Pakistan’s isolation from the international community”.
It also quoted Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley stating that the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status granted to Pakistan had been withdrawn.

Some Most Natural Amazing Events Of The World (Videos)
Monarch butterfly migrations, maelstroms, and Honduran fish rain are only a sample of six of the most amazing natural events our world has to offer.
A maelstrom is a powerful free vortex, essentially a whirlpool, which occurs in the ocean. The original maelstrom that drew fame in Edgar Allan Poe’s classic “A Descent into the Maelstrom” was in fact a very powerful tidal current dubbed Moskstraumen, which is the result of conjoint currents and tides.
Migration Of Serenget
Lasting from January to March, the southern region of Serengeti, Tanzania (known as Ngorongoro) plays host to a great animal migration. The natural phenomenon occurs because due to grazing patterns of the 750,000 zebra, 1.2 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of other game that follow the rain ripened grazing plains.
The Great Salmon Run
An annual staple in British Columbia, the great salmon rush is the name given to the event where massive amounts of salmon swim toward the upper reaches of rivers, where they spawn on gravel beds.
After spawning, all Pacific (and most Atlantic) salmon die, and thus the salmon cycle begins again. Aside from the public spectacle the run generates, the salmon run also brings out grizzly bears, bald eagles and sport fishermen, all ready to take their share of the rosy-colored fish.

Suspects Are Being Investigated By Using Snakes By Police In Indosesia (Vidio)
Indonesian police have apologised and pledged disciplinary action after officers draped a live snake around the neck of a suspect to persuade him to confess during an interrogation session in the easternmost area of Papua.
A video circulated online shows a man being questioned about stolen mobile phones seated with his hands tethered behind his back yelling in distress as a snake is pushed towards his face by an officer.
The man, who can been seen writhing on the ground for much of the time is asked by an officer, “How may times have you stolen mobile phones?”
The suspect later responds by saying, “Only two times.”
During the video, a voice can be heard ordering the man to open his eyes and at one stage threatens to put the snake into his mouth and under his trousers.
In a statement, Jayawijaya police chief Tonny Ananda Swadaya issued an apology, saying, “The investigator was not professional in doing his job”.
Swadaya added that the officers had been acting on their own initiative to try get a confession, saying the snake was non-venomous and tame.
“We have taken stern action against the personnel,” he said, adding the officers themselves had not physically attacked the man.
Papua police spokesman Ahmad Musthofa Kamal said the case was being investigated by the internal affairs unit and if violations of the law or code of conduct were proven action would be taken.
Reports of human rights abuses by security forces often emerge from Papua, where a separatist movement has simmered for decades.
The former Dutch colony, the resource-rich western part New Guinea island, was incorporated into Indonesia after a widely criticized UN-backed referendum in 1969.
Veronica Koman, a human rights lawyer focused on Papua, said by text message that using a snake in this way represented torture and was not a one-off incident in the area.
Koman said a snake had also been used in an interrogation of one of her clients, whom she said was a pro-independence activist.
Papua police spokesman Kamal said he was not aware of another case.

Muslim World Is Lagging Behind In Science, Technology, New Innovations And Patents--Why?
Some 57 Muslim countries in the world are home to more than 25 per cent of the population. Most of these nations are confronted with problems such as poverty, war, unrest and political instability However, the countries in Gulf and United Arab Emirates are rich in resources and are self-sufficient.
Despite the varied spectrum, one factor is common in all of these states – they lag far behind in science, technology, new patents and innovations as compared to other developed nations.
In 2016, the Task Force on Science at the Universities of the Muslim World published a comprehensive report regarding the status of science, technology and higher education in Islamic countries. The report presented alarming facts from the Muslim world.
Here are some disturbing details from the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) as mentioned in the report:
Only three scientists from OIC namely Dr Abdus Salam from Pakistan (Physics 1979), Prof Ahmed Zewail from Egypt (Chemistry 1999) and Aziz Sancar from Turkey (Chemistry 2015) received Nobel Prizes in their respective fields.
All of them did their award winning work outside their home countries.
The Muslim world produces only six per cent of the global academic publications, 1.6 per cent of the world’s patents and shares 2.4 per cent of global research expenditures.
Muslim countries on an average invest 0.5 of their GDP in research and development programme.
The Express Tribune asked eight scientists from different Islamic countries to communicate the reasons behind the lagging of Muslim states in the field of science & technology.
Colonialism, conflicts and lack of political will
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Dean of College of Pharmacy University of Alkitab Dr Nohad Alomari said that Iraqis were struggling for everyday utilities as war after war had badly disturbed every aspect of their lives.
Alomari said science needs a suitable environment to mull over facts but the Iraqis were preoccupied with daily needs. A lot of time was required to normalise the situation in the war-torn country.
The US-led invasion of Iraq not only destroyed dozens of universities and science institutes but also targeted hundreds of top scientists.
Baghdad University geologist and head of Association of University Lecturers Al-Rawi archived that around 300 academics and university administrators have been assassinated since the US occupation of Iraq that began in 2003.
Almost all scholars agreed that lack of political will in acquiring higher education and conducting research was another problem in majority of the Muslim states.
Eldar A Garev and Kamala Badalova, both from Azerbaijan Medical University stated that they have language hurdles in the higher education.
“Azerbaijani, Russian and English are the medium of teaching in my country, however, we have some political hurdles in research and higher education,” said Garev.
Karachi University director of International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary said the leaders have failed to understand that progress without science and technology is not possible in the ever changing world.
“I would state three problems: First is the lack of understanding and political will. Secondly, our own issues and problems kept busy in the civil wars and political unrest. The third is our failure to unite as Muslim Ummah or our inability to create a Pan-Islamic movement for science and technology,” he added.
Manal Fardon from the American University of Beirut said that there was no luxury of science amid war and insecurity.
“In my country, resources are very limited and the market is supersaturated with many competent graduates. So the authorities should determine that who is good for teaching and who is eligible for research as lack of research center is another problem in Lebanon,” Manal remarked.
But the situation seems to be different in Palestine where there is shortage of human resource in universities.
Rami Arafeh from Palestine Biotechnology Research Centre said that he had a modern food science laboratory in his country but it was closed due to lack of skilled professionals.
According to Arafeh, favouritism, low capacity and teaching instead of research were three main problems of higher education in the Palestine.
“The USAID and other NGOs come to us, and say, here is the money, do the research. But we do not have technicians and experts who can run these machines,” Arafeh noted.
“In general, from Palestine, only those research publications are high ranking if they are jointly produced with at least one or two western scholars,” he added.
Sahar Mostafa of Mansoura University in Egypt reiterated that majority of Egyptian scientists are not concerned with research and development. They only focus on their own promotions by writing papers which is a waste of time and resources.
Pakistani scientist Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary stressed upon the need of virtual network of scholars from Islamic countries.
“Instead of waiting for the political leadership, I think it is important that the scientists from chemistry, medicine, social science and other disciplines should create a web-based network to achieve the common goals,” he said.
Eminent Malaysian chemist Prof Dr Dato Ibrahim Jantan maintained that science is controlled by the west. A strong leadership is required to bring the Muslim scholars together.
